Cycling Australia is committed to inspiring Australians to ride with us. We’ve introduced the Enviro Bike Box and developed a detailed packing guide to ensure the safe transport of your bicycle. This guide is designed for packing two track bikes, allowing you to easily take your beloved bikes anywhere.
Packing Steps:
- Disassembly and Marking
First, remove the chainring, pedals, seatpost (mark the height), and handlebars. Label all parts. Use Velcro or tape to mark the head tube position. Insert the fork block into the dropout and secure with an elastic strap. - Wheel and Seat Protection
Place pedals and seat clamp in the pocket of the rear wheel bag. Cover the rear wheel while mounted on the bike with the wheel bag. Put the seat inside a protective bag or bubble wrap and position it at the bottom of the box, to be held in place by the rear wheels. - Frame and Wheel Placement
Place both bikes in the box facing opposite directions. Remove front skewers (or completely unscrew wheel nuts) and put them in wheel bag pockets. Put front wheels in wheel bags and place both wheels between the two frames. - Handlebars and Final Packing
Put handlebars in a bag or bubble wrap and place inside the box, hooked around the rear wheel against the end of the box. Put the lid on the box and do up straps. When correctly packed, the box should ideally weigh no more than 23kg.
By following these detailed guidelines provided by Cycling Australia, you can ensure your bicycle receives optimal protection during transport. Whether you’re competing, training, or traveling, the Enviro Bike Box meets your needs.
Remember, safe packing is the first step to a successful ride. Cycling Australia wishes you a pleasant journey and enjoyable cycling experiences!
